Ham & Pineapple

During September our friends Bob & Noby were visiting and we had a day to take them around and show them some of the sights of Moscow. The building behind them is Moscow State University.

Back to School and Karina's first day.

The kids returned to school on the 21st August, this is Karina's first year and she has been looking forward to this day for over a year now. As she says "I am in BIG school now or if somebody is visiting or she meets somebody she informs them "Did you know I am in kindergarten now!

A Great Adventure, Our Summer Holidays

This summer we decided to take a holiday by the sea. We found a nice place on the Sea of Azov (this is the sea between Ukraine and Russia on the north eastern corner of the Black Sea. We drove the 1500 KM from Moscow to the village of Kuchagorie. This took 2 day to dive. It was a long and hot journy as our car doesn't have AC and the temperture in the heart lands of Russia were over 30c.

Here we are taking a break close to the end of the first day of driving. By night fall as we found a motel for the night we had covered 1000KM (For you car buffs our car a VW Sharan TDI done all this on a little less that one tank of desiel)

By mid afternoon on the second day we reached our distination "The Sea of Azov"

This is the place we would stay in for our 10 days by the sea. it was only 150 meters from the beach above

Our kids enjoy every minute they could be on the beach and in the sea

After our time at the sea we spent a few days in Krasnodar to visit some of our friends we had made during the four and a half years we lived there. Then we decided to try and make the journy of 1300km back to Moscow in one day, so leaving Krasnodar at 7am we arrive in Moscow just after midnight. Woo what a journy, I am not sure if I want to do that again real soon!

School is out!

As of friday our kids are finished school for another year.

Daniel receives his award and achivements for the year, he had an A average for the year

Sonja receives her awards for the year, one of these was for PE

Timothy receives his awards, he was on the Principles list for straight A's

Karina receives her awards her last day in Datie Cad (Russian pre school)

How the big question is what are they going to do all summer???

Me grilling the chicken, I can't even begin to tell how good this tasted.

We have been having some beautiful weather here in Moscow over the past few weeks. It has been 30-35c over the past week. So last weekend along with some friends we drove to this nice spot we know outside the city and had a BBQ. This is Gudrun with our friends Dan & Nancy.
